Lisanne Somers graduated from Maastricht University in June 2012. She has completed both the Master in Dutch Law (free profile: private and administrative law) and the Master in Labour and Business Law.
For more than six years, Lisanne worked for a large legal expenses insurer. There, as a specialist in employment law and personal injury law, she gained a great deal of experience in both advising and litigating. In 2019, Lisanne made the switch to Paulussen Advocaten, where she focuses on labour law and liability law as a lawyer with a civil practice.
Lisanne deals with all aspects of employment law. This includes individual and collective dismissal cases, incapacity for work issues, discussions about a non-competition clause, disputes about salary, conflicts relating to the transfer of undertaking and the drafting of (employment) contracts.
In addition, she handles a variety of liability matters, for example with respect to damages that have arisen as a result of unlawful acts or failure to properly carry out assignments.
At her previous employer, Lisanne’s clientele consisted mainly of private individuals and smaller entrepreneurs. At Paulussen Advocaten, the focus has shifted to medium-sized and large companies and government institutions. Nevertheless, Lisanne is also committed to advising and assisting private clients.
Her experience as a representative of the interests of both employers and employees and of both victims and parties held liable means that Lisanne is in an excellent position to view matters from multiple perspectives and to reach practical and effective solutions. Lisanne takes an energetic and creative approach. She strives to promote dialogue between the parties. If it proves impossible to reach a reasonable solution by mutual agreement, she will vigorously assist her clients in legal proceedings as well.
Lisanne is a member of the Association for Labour Law Lawyers Netherlands (VAAN), the Association for Labour Law (Vereniging voor Arbeidsrecht, VvA) and the Association for Young Labour Lawyers (VJAA).
