Mieke Reij studied law at the Radboud University Nijmegen. She graduated with a bachelor´s degree in international and European law and a master´s degree in Dutch law, with a specialization in business and economic law. She also studied at the University of Iowa College of Law where she obtained a second master´s degree in international and comparative law in 2012 and also worked as a research-assistant.
Before joining Paulussen Advocaten in September 2021, Mieke worked at a renowned international law firm in Amsterdam for eight years. She gained extensive experience in civil law matters, in particular in the field of intellectual property law. This included litigation in complex and technical international disputes.
Mieke also worked in the field of competition law and energy law. During this time, she provided compliance advice, assisted clients in corporate transactions and enforcement actions and was involved in litigation on energy regulation and competition law matters.
At Paulussen Advocaten, Mieke uses her broad experience to assist clients with legal challenges in the field of climate change liability and the energy transition.
Mieke is also active as a volunteer for the Climate Reality Project.
