Philip Nijbakker studied private law in Rotterdam whilst serving as an acting registrar. After working as a lawyer for medium-sized and large enterprises in Rotterdam for five years, Philip has run his practice from Heerlen since 2003. His areas of focus are business law, insolvency law, national/international contract law, insurance law, administrative law, procurements, health law, transport law and medical research consultancy for healthcare and related organisations.

Philip successfully completed the specialist Insolvency Law course at the Grotius Academy (Radboud University) in 2017 and is a member of the Association of Insolvency Lawyers (Insolad). In addition, Philip successfully completed the specialist course Financial Economics for Insolvency Lawyers (Erasmus University Rotterdam/Insolad) in 2019.

Outside work, Philip is actively involved in sports (golf and cycling) and cultural events.
