Pim Heemskerk assists clients with their civil and regulatory law issues, particularly in the area of climate change and the energy transition. In doing so, he draws on 15 years of experience in (financial) law, both at law firms and in-house at financial institutions. The interface between civil law and regulatory law has his special interest.

In 2007, Pim obtained his master’s degree in Dutch law from Radboud University Nijmegen. After this, he was a lawyer in Amsterdam and New York until June 2015, where he worked in the international financial law practice. Pim then gained broad experience at an insurer/asset manager and at a bank, most recently as Head of Legal Financial Markets Products & Regulations. He joined Paulussen Advocaten in November 2022.

Pim has registered the following principal legal practice areas in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas (rechtsgebiedenregister):

• General practice
• Financial law

Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten training credits per calendar year in each registered principal legal practice area in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
